Spanish Primera Liga champions Barcelona expect manager Pep Guardiola to sign a contract extension at the Nou Camp on Wednesday.
The former Nou Camp midfielder has proved to be a huge success in management after taking charge of the Catalan club in 2008 following a spell as boss of their B team.
Guardiola has led Barcelona to seven titles in two seasons, including the 2009 Champions League and two successive La Liga crowns, while playing incredibly attractive football at the same time.
Barcelona, who are currently attempting to sign Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal, are therefore understandably keen to secure the long-term services of the Spaniard.
A verbal agreement was made in January to stay on until the end of next season and a further deal is now close, with Barcelona saying on their official website: "The expected announcement of Guardiola's continued presence on the bench is a reality."
